The Prime Minister, David Cameron, made a statement to the House of Commons on Wednesday 6 February 2013, on the publication of the report by the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust Inquiry

Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust Public Inquiry
The Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust Public Inquiry was announced following the Statement to the House of Commons on 9 June 2010 by the Secretary of State for Health.
This Inquiry, governed by the Inquiries Act 2005, examined the commissioning, supervisory and regulatory organisations in relation to their monitoring role at Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust between January 2005 and March 2009.
It considered why the serious problems at the Trust were not identified and acted on sooner, and will identify important lessons to be learnt for the future of patient care.
The final report of the Inquiry was published on Wednesday 6 February 2013.

Chair of the House of Commons Health Committee, Stephen Dorrell, has commented following the publication of the report by the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust Public Inquiry.
The Committee will be taking evidence from Robert Francis QC, Chairman of the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust Public Inquiry, on Tuesday 12 February 2013.
