Parliament holds free workshop on engaging with legislation

Are you interested in finding out how you can have your say on a proposed law that is progressing through Parliament?
The free Public Bill Workshop on Friday 25 January 2013 on how to engage with Parliament’s scrutiny of legislation is now fully booked.
What the Public Bill workshop will look at
The workshop will include presentations on:
- Ways of engaging with a Bill in the House of Commons
Philip Hollobone MP, Kettering - Engaging with legislation in the House of Lords
Baroness Jay of Paddington - The legislative passage in the House of Commons
Kate Emms, Clerk in Charge of Private Members’ Bills, House of Commons - Pre-legislative stages of a bill
James Stephens, Office of the Parliamentary Counsel, Cabinet Office
Experts from the Houses of Parliament will be on hand to answer any questions on the parliamentary scrutiny of a Bill and give advice on how to track the progress of Bills.
Peter Bone, MP for Wellingborough, is no longer able to attend but we are pleased to welcome Philip Hollobone, MP for Kettering, to speak instead.
Where and when
The event will take place on Friday 25 January 2013, 11am to 1pm in Portcullis House at the Houses of Parliament, with registration from 10.30am.
