House of Commons rises for Summer recess 2013

The House of Commons adjourned on Thursday 18 July for the Summer recess. The Commons Chamber will next sit on Monday 2 September 2013
Debates scheduled for the week the House returns include:
- Backbench Business debates on the future for Postal Services in rural areas and the All-Party Parliamentary Cycling Group's Report 'Get Britain Cycling'
- Second reading of the Transparency of Lobbying, Non-party Campaigning and Trade Union Administration Bill

Committee reports
A number of House of Commons Select Committee reports are due to be published over the summer recess.
Recess
Parliament does not sit all year round. During periods called recesses, MPs and Members of the House of Lords can carry out their other duties. The exact pattern of recesses can change and is usually slightly different for the two Houses of Parliament.
