The Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Humanist Group and a former Bishop of Oxford debated the contribution that atheists and humanists have made to British society on Thursday 25 July.

Lords discussed the ways atheists and humanists have contributed to society, including involvement in charity work, scientific research and cultural and creative life.

They spoke about the distinctions between humanism and atheism and highlighted a number of humanist and atheist organisations that contribute to public service. They also suggested that humanism be included in the religious education syllabus at schools.
