MPs debate Queen's Speech: Day 3 - Jobs and Business

In the third day of debate on the Queen's Speech in the House of Commons on Friday 10 May 2013, MPs debated those aspects of the speech relating to jobs and business.

Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, Vince Cable, moved the debate on behalf of the Government. Shadow Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, Chuka Umunna, responded on behalf of the Opposition.

Debate on the Address: Day 3

Following the first day of general debate on the Queen's Speech on Wednesday 8 May 2013, there are five days of debate on specific topics. On the second day of debate on Tuesday 9 May 2013 MPs discussed home affairs. On the third day of debate MPs discussed jobs and business.

Further debate on different aspects of the Queen's Speech will proceed over the next three sitting days as follows:

  • Monday 13 May - Health and Social care
  • Tuesday 14 May - Cost of living
  • Wednesday 15 May - Economic Growth.
