Parliament invites public to talk about EU

Are you interested in the European Union? Do you think EU membership has benefited the UK? What does the future hold for the UK and Europe? Do you want to find out how Parliament debates EU issues?

'Parliament Talks European Union' was a free public event, bringing together parliamentarians and experts to examine the UK’s relationship with the European Union, highlighting how MPs and Lords hold the Government to account and examine policy issues relating to the EU.

There was be a chance to put questions to a panel of experts and find out more about how to engage with the work of Committees and other bodies within Parliament.

'Parliament Talks European Union' took place from 5.30-7.30pm on Thursday 20 June 2013, it was hosted in partnership between King’s College London and the Houses of Parliaments Outreach Service.

Speakers at 'Parliament Talks European Union'

Speakers at the event included:

  • William Cash, Conservative MP for Stone and Chair of the House of Commons European Scrutiny Committee.
  • Lord Boswell of Aynho, Chairman of the House of Lord European Scrutiny Select Committee.
  • Andrea Biondi, Professor of European Union Law and Director of the Centre for European Law at King’s College London.

'Parliament Talks European Union' was held at The Chapel, King’s College London on Thursday 20 June 2013 from 5.30 to 7.30pm.

'Parliament Talks' was a series of regular subject-specific events in which a range of expert speakers explained and led discussion on Parliament’s role in effectively scrutinising public policy and holding the Government to account.
