Members of the Lords, including a former home secretary and the deputy chair of the Regional Growth Fund Independent Advisory Panel, asked the government how it will increase take-up of apprenticeships among young people, on Thursday 28 November.

Lords discussed the role of apprenticeships in helping young people into work. They considered the ways apprenticeships can help young people learn important skills and grow in confidence.

They also looked at ways young people can be made more aware of the vocational training options available to them, including through teachers and the government’s career service.
