The Secretary of State for Defence, Philip Hammond, made a statement in the House of Commons on 6 November 2013 on the future ship building programme for the Royal Navy and in particular the aircraft carrier project. Shadow Secretary of State for Defence, Vernon Coaker, responded to the statement on behalf of the Opposition.
