Parliament to hold free seminar in Cardiff on engaging with legislation

Are you interested in finding out how you can have your say on a proposed law progressing through Parliament?

Parliament's Outreach Service is holding a free Public Bill Seminar on Thursday 31 October 2013, from 1-3pm on how to engage with Parliament’s scrutiny of legislation.
 
This event will demonstrate how you can best engage with MPs and Lords and improve your campaigning.

What the Public Bill Seminar will look at

The seminar will cover:

  • How a bill progresses through Parliament
  • What happens during a bill’s pre-legislative stages
  • Where to find authoritative information online
  • How you can engage with bills going through Parliament
  • The relationship between the UK Parliament and the National Assembly for Wales

Speakers at the event include Lord Aberdare and Glyn Davies MP, Member for Montgomeryshire, plus experts from the Houses of Parliament and the National Assembly for Wales and Robert Orchard, former BBC Parliamentary correspondent.

Staff from the Houses of Parliament Outreach Service will also be on hand to answer any questions on the parliamentary scrutiny of a bill and gave advice on how to track the progress of bills.
