House of Commons rises for conference recess 2013

The House of Commons adjourned on Friday 13 September 2013 for the conference recess. The Commons Chamber will next sit on Tuesday 8 October 2013
Debates scheduled for the week the House returns include:
- Backbench Business debates on free school meals and funding for local authorities
- Remaining stages of the Transparency of Lobbying, Non-party Campaigning and Trade Union Administration Bill

Committee reports
A number of House of Commons Select Committee reports are due to be published over the Conference recess.
Recess
Parliament does not sit all year round. During periods called recesses, MPs and Members of the House of Lords can carry out their other duties. The exact pattern of recesses can change and is usually slightly different for the two Houses of Parliament.
