For the third year running, Parliament is teaming up with Rewired State for Parliament Hack 2013.

Parliament will be hosting a hack weekend in November where developers and designers from across the UK will come together to build new apps using parliamentary data.

Parliament Hack 2013 is the third annual hack event organised by Parliament and looks to build on the fascinating apps and ideas which hackers have developed in previous years.

The event will be hosted by Rewired State, the UK's only independent developer network, as part of Parliament Week and will take place at the Hub Westminster on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 November 2013.

Parliament Week is a UK-wide programme of events and activities that inspire, engage and connect people with parliamentary democracy. This year, Parliament Week runs from 15 to 21 November. For a full range of events, visit parliamentweek.org.

At Parliament Hack 2013, prizes will be awarded for the best projects in five categories:

  • Increasing participation - best way to put people in touch with their elected representatives
  • Why should I care? – how can you match people’s interests with topics discussed in Parliament
  • Re:Member – best way to find out more about what people do at Parliament
  • Today in Parliament - best way of letting people know what’s happening now in Parliament
  • Best In Show

If you're a developer or designer wishing to take part in the event, you can sign up now with Rewired State. If you're not a coder, you can still sign up to come to the show and tell session which will take place from 4pm to 6pm at the Hub Westminster on Sunday 17th November.
