House of Commons rises for Easter recess 2014

The House of Commons adjourned on 10 April 2014 for the Easter recess. The Commons Chamber will next sit on Monday 28 April 2014
Debates scheduled for the week the House returns include:
- High Speed Rail (London - West Midlands) Bill, second reading
- Defence Reform Bill - Consideration of Lords amendments
- Wales Bill - Committee of the Whole House

Committee reports
A number of House of Commons Select Committee reports are due to be published over the summer recess, including the Scottish Affairs report on zero hours and the Defence Committee report on the 2012 attack on Camp Bastion.
Recess
Parliament does not sit all year round. During periods called recesses, MPs and Members of the House of Lords can carry out their other duties. The exact pattern of recesses can change and is usually slightly different for the two Houses of Parliament.
