Members of the Lords, including leading business people, economists and a former chancellor of the exchequer, debated the Autumn Statement and measures to promote economic growth and to support businesses in the UK, on Thursday 4 December.

Members debated the measures outlined in the chancellor’s Autumn Statement, focusing on the progress the government is making in cutting the economic deficit. Other key areas of the debate included support for small business (including access to finance), how productivity and skills can be improved in the UK, living standards and access to affordable housing.
