Peers debate international trade

Members of the House of Lords, including a former director of the London School of Economics, will debate the role of international trade in increasing employment and economic growth on Thursday 23 January

This is a general debate, which usually take place on a Thursday in the chamber. During debates, members are able to discuss current issues and draw the government's attention to concerns.
The debate was tabled by Lord Harrison (Labour). Other speakers expected to contribute are:
- Lord Carrington of Fulham (Conservative), former chair of the House of Commons Treasury Select Committee
- Lord Giddens (Labour), former director of the London School of Economics
- Baroness Miller of Chilthorne Domer (Liberal Democrat), former councillor
Lord Livingston of Parkhead (Conservative), minister at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, will respond on behalf of the government.
