Lords debates Scottish independence

Members of the House of Lords, including a current MSP, a former First Minster of Scotland and four former Secretaries of State for Scotland, debated the implications for the UK of the 2014 Scottish independence referendum, in the Lords on Thursday 30 January.

This was a general debate, which usually take place on a Thursday in the chamber. During debates, members are able to discuss current issues and draw the government's attention to concerns.
