Parliament to hold event in Durham on health

The Houses of Parliament's Outreach Service is to hold a free event in Durham on Friday 27 June 2014 focusing on how people can engage with Parliament on health and wellbeing issues.
Held in partnership with Voluntary Organisations Network North East (VONNE), Durham Community Action and County Durham Sport, the event will give attendees practical and useful information on how to work with politicians on health and wellbeing issues and provide an opportunity to debate related issues.
The event will include:
- Keynote speech from Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson
- Workshop on Select Committees from Laura Daniels, House of Commons Health Committee
- Advice on working with MPs and Members of the House of Lords
Who can attend?
- People working for local authorities, charities and businesses, as well as interested individuals
- People with an interest in physical health, mental health, wellbeing and healthy lifestyles
- Men and women of all ages
Lunch and light refreshments will be available.
This event is organised by Parliament’s Outreach Service, Voluntary Organisatons Network North East (VONNE), County Durham Sport and Durham Community Action
