Democracy on Demand – the impact of televising the Commons

To mark the 25th anniversary of televising the Commons Chamber, and as part of Parliament Week 2014, you are invited to attend a discussion bringing together Members of Parliament and the media.

Topics of discussion will include the impact that televising the Commons Chamber has had on politics, public engagement and how politicians are held to account.

The panel will include:

  • Jo Coburn, BBC Daily Politics (chair)
  • Rt Hon Sir Alan Haselhurst MP
  • John McAndrew, Sky News
  • Lisa Nandy MP

The debate will also look at the future of broadcasting in Parliament, and how technological developments are changing the way that the media reports on politics.
