Lords debates case for UK's membership of EU

Members of the Lords debated the case for the United Kingdom's membership of the European Union, on Tuesday 25 November.

Members of the Lords discussed a number of issues relating to the UK's membership of the EU. These included:

  • the question of EU reform and how it will be achieved
  • the economic case for membership of the EU
  • migration
  • consolidatation of the common market
  • domestic measures on free movement 
  • the global influence of EU membership
  • the government's forthcoming balance of competences review.
