Lords video series: Stories of the First World War

The House of Lords has produced a video series as a contribution to the commemorations of the centenary of the First World War.

View the House of Lords: Stories of the First World War video series on the House of Lords YouTube channel to hear individual family stories that consider the conflict's legacy from a number of different perspectives. More videos will be added during the period of commemoration. The videos can also be viewed individually below.

Video one: Lord Wallace of Saltaire (Liberal Democrat) on what sparked his own research into members' family histories of the conflict and his father's experiences of the First World War.

Video two: Baroness Massey of Darwen (Labour) tells the story of her grandfather, who was wounded at the Battle of Loos and received a military medal. She also speaks of the impact of his experiences on his family after the war.

Video three: Lord Tugendhat (Conservative) speaks about his family history on both sides of the conflict.
