Women in Politics event in Liverpool with the Lord Speaker

Join the Lord Speaker Baroness D'Souza to discuss the topic of women's representation in political life. The event will take place at Blackburne House, Liverpool on Friday 17 October 2014.
The event will feature an address by the Lord Speaker and fellow panellists, followed by an audience led discussion about women’s representation in political life, women in Parliament, some of the challenges that women face in politics and how to influence parliamentary processes.

The Lord Speaker is taking part in this event as part of her ongoing nationwide programme to promote and explain the work of the House of Lords.
Women in Parliament
The discussion and forum coincides with the recent launch of Parliament’s “Women in Parliament” programme. Developed by the Houses of Parliament’s Outreach Service, the programme will provide potential partners with an opportunity to engage and empower women with whom they work.
The programme's aim is to make a real difference in encouraging women to make their concerns and views heard and result in a constructive understanding of the parliamentary processes.
