Following planning permission granted in February 2014, the House of Commons recently entered into an Agreement for Lease with the Department of Culture, Media and Sport to build and occupy the new Education Centre at Victoria Tower Gardens.

Work on the Education Centre began in September 2014. The Centre will be situated at the Northern end of Victoria Tower Gardens, next to Black Rod’s Garden, with completion scheduled for early summer 2015.

The new Centre will more than double capacity for the Education Service’s visits programme, increasing the number of pupils visiting Parliament to approximately 100,000 per year, and providing specialist facilities to ensure they get the most from their visit.
