Members of the Lords will debate the case for increasing the supply of affordable housing, on Thursday 25 June.

Members highlighted the current rates of home building, at around 250,000 new homes a year, and asked how this could be increased. They spoke about current house prices, rent regulations and the government’s proposed right to buy scheme for housing association tenants.

Members also discussed what the definition of ‘affordable’ should be, and asked if new housing could be made more disability-friendly.
