2015 Budget debate on business

Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, Ed Balls, opened the continuing debate on the 2015 Budget, on the subject of business, in the House of Commons on Thursday 19 March 2015.

Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, Vince Cable, will respond on behalf of the Government.

Budget debates

The debates following the 2015 Budget statement will continue on Thursday 19, Friday 20 and conclude on Monday 23 March 2015.

Each day of debate will focus on a different policy area:

  • Thursday: Business
  • Friday: Local growth
  • Monday: Jobs, pensions and savings

At the end of the debate the Commons will be asked to approve a series of Ways and Means Resolutions. Generally the House will vote on a selection of these Resolutions.

Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, delivered the Budget Statement to the House of Commons on Wednesday 18 March 2015.
