2015 Budget debate on local growth

The Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Eric Pickles, opened the continuing debate on the 2015 Budget, on the subject of local growth, in the House of Commons on Friday 20 March 2015.

Shadow Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Hilary Benn, responded on behalf of the opposition.

Budget debates

The debates following the 2015 Budget statement will conclude on Monday 23 March 2015.

Each day of debate will focus on a different policy area:

  • Thursday: Business
  • Friday: Local growth
  • Monday: Jobs, pensions and savings

At the end of the debate the Commons will be asked to approve a series of Ways and Means Resolutions. Generally the House will vote on a selection of these Resolutions.
