The following Bills were debated on Friday 6 March 2015:

Mutuals’ Deferred Shares Bill [Lords]: Report Stage and Third Reading

This Bill, sponsored by Jonathan Evans MP, seeks to enable the law relating to societies registered and incorporated under the Friendly Societies Act 1992 and certain mutual insurers to be amended to permit or facilitate the issue of deferred shares; and to restrict the voting rights of members who hold such shares.

The Bill passed all of its stages in the House of Commons.

House of Lords (Expulsion and Suspension) Bill [Lords]: Report Stage and Third Reading

This Bill, sponsored by George Young MP, seeks to make provision empowering the House of Lords to expel or suspend
members.

The Bill passed all of its stages in the House of Commons.

Wind Farm Subsidies (Abolition) Bill: Second Reading

This Bill, sponsored by Peter Bone MP, seeks to make provision for the cessation of subsidies for the development of wind farms.

The House disagreed to the Bill being read a second time. (Division No.171, Ayes 7, Noes 38) 

Foreign National Offenders (Exclusion from the United Kingdom) Bill: Second Reading

This Bill, sponsored by Peter Bone MP, seeks to make provision to exclude from the United Kingdom foreign nationals found guilty of a criminal offence committed in the United Kingdom.

This Bill was withdrawn at the end of the debate and will not progress any further.

Fixed-Term Parliaments (Repeal) Bill: Second Reading

This Bill, sponsored by Alan Duncan MP, seeks to repeal the Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011.

This Bill started its second reading debate but the debate was adjourned. Debate is expected to resume on Friday 20 March 2015.

The House has agreed to sit on on Friday 20 March 2015, but government business will take precedence over Private Members' Bills. The following Bills have been rescheduled but are not expected to be considered on this date.

Road Fuel Pricing (Equalisation) Bill: Second Reading

This Bill, sponsored by Mark Garnier MP, seeks to require that companies selling road fuels be required to charge prices equalised between rural and urban areas; and for connected purposes.

The Second Reading stage of this Bill has been scheduled for Friday 20 March 2015.

Working Time Directive (Limitation) Bill: Second Reading

This Bill, sponsored by  Christopher Chope MP, seeks to limit the application of the EU Working Time Directive; and for connected purposes.

The Second Reading stage of this Bill has been scheduled for Friday 20 March 2015.

Bat Habitats Regulation Bill: Second Reading

This Bill, sponsored by Christopher Chope MP, seeks to make provision to enhance the protection available for bat habitats in the non-built environment and to limit the protection for bat habitats in the built environment where the presence of bats has a significant adverse impact upon the users of buildings.

The Second Reading stage of this Bill has been scheduled for Friday 20 March 2015.

Defence Expenditure (NATO Target) Bill: Second Reading

This Bill, sponsored by Christopher Chope MP, seeks to make provision about the meeting by the United Kingdom of the target for defence expenditure to constitute a minimum of 2% of Gross Domestic Product; to make provision that the definition of defence expenditure is subject to independent verification; and for connected purposes.

Convicted Prisoners Voting Bill: Second Reading [Day 2]

This Bill, sponsored by Christopher Chope MP, seeks to make provision for rules relating to the exclusion of convicted prisoners from participation in Parliamentary and Local Elections.

The Second Reading stage of this Bill has been scheduled for Friday 20 March 2015.

Benefit Entitlement (Restriction) Bill: Second Reading

This Bill, sponsored by Christopher Chope MP, seeks to make provision to restrict the entitlement of non-UK citizens from the European Union and the European Economic Area to taxpayer-funded benefits.

The Second Reading stage of this Bill has been scheduled for Friday 20 March 2015.

Illegal Immigrants (Criminal Sanctions) Bill: Second Reading [Day 2]

This Bill, sponsored by Christopher Chope MP, seeks to make provision for criminal sanctions against those who have entered the UK illegally or who have remained in the UK without legal authority.

The Second Reading stage of this Bill has been scheduled for Friday 20 March 2015.

House of Lords (Maximum Membership) Bill: Second Reading

This Bill, sponsored by Christopher Chope MP, seeks to provide for a maximum limit on the number of Peers entitled to vote in the House of Lords; and to provide for a moratorium on new appointments.

The Second Reading stage of this Bill has been scheduled for Friday 20 March 2015.

EU Membership (Audit of Costs and Benefits) Bill: Second Reading

This Bill, sponsored by Christopher Chope MP, seeks to require an independent audit of the benefits and costs of UK membership of the European Union.

The Second Reading stage of this Bill has been scheduled for Friday 20 March 2015.

Wild Animals in Circuses Bill: Second Reading

This Bill, sponsored by Jim Fitzpatrick MP, seeks to prohibit the use of wild animals in circuses; and for connected purposes. 

The Second Reading stage of this Bill has been scheduled for Friday 20 March 2015.

Household Safety (Carbon Monoxide Detectors) Bill [Day 2]

This Bill, sponsored by Andrew Bingham MP, seeks to introduce a requirement that a functioning carbon monoxide detector must be installed in all newly built and all rented residential properties; and for connected purposes.

The Second Reading stage of this Bill has been scheduled for Friday 27 March 2015. As the House is not expected to sit on this day it is unlikely to be debated on this date.

Women’s Refuges (Provision and Eligibility) Bill: Second Reading

This Bill, sponsored by Norman Baker MP, seeks to require provision of women’s refuges in certain areas; to set out requirements of local councils relating to women’s refuges; and for connected purposes.

Nature Bill: Second Reading

This Bill, sponsored by John Randall MP, seeks to set biodiversity and other targets for 2040; to establish a Natural Capital Committee; to require local authorities to maintain local ecological network strategies; to identify species threatened with extinction; to make provision for access to high quality natural green space; and to include education about the natural environment in the curriculum for maintained schools.

Medical Innovation Bill [Lords]: Second Reading

This Bill, sponsored by Michael Ellis MP, seeks to make provision about innovation in medical treatment.

Road Traffic Regulation (Temporary Closure for Filming) Bill: Second Reading [Day 2]

This Bill, sponsored by Iain Stewart MP, seeks to make provision for the restriction or regulation of traffic on roads in connection with filming; and for connected purposes.

As with other Public Bills, their purpose is to change the law as it applies to the general population.
