Lords concludes Queen's Speech debate

The House of Lords completed its debate on the government’s plans for the year ahead, as set out in the Queen’s Speech, on Thursday 4 June.

Different subject areas were debated each day following State Opening. The debate lasted for five days after the day of the ceremony.

Thursday 5 June - business, economic affairs and transport

Wednesday 3 June - health, education, welfare and culture

Tuesday 2 June - home affairs, local government, energy, environment and agriculture

Monday 1 June - constitutional affairs, legal affairs and devolved affairs

Thursday 28 May - foreign affairs, European affairs, international development and defence

Wednesday 27 May (after State Opening) - formal thank you in reply to the Queen's Speech
