Members of the Lords debated the sale of UK assets to foreign ownership, and the effects on such sales of the laws of corporate governance, on Thursday 19 November.

This was a general debate. They usually take place on a Thursday in the Lords chamber. During debates, members are able to put their experience to good use, discussing current issues and drawing the government's attention to concerns.

The debate was requested by Viscount Hanworth (Labour), Professor of Econometrics and Computational Statistics at the University of Leicester. Other speakers included:

Earl Courtown (Conservative), responded on behalf of the government.
