Lords private members' bills

The House of Lords considered three private members' bills on Friday 22 October. The bills cover arbitration and mediation services, access to palliative care and prohibiting the advertising of prostitution.
A private member's bill is a type of public bill (that affects the public). Private members' bills must go through the same set of procedures as other public bills.
Arbitration and Mediation Services (Equality) Bill
A bill to define laws around arbitration and mediation services and the application of equality legislation to these services, including the protection of victims of domestic abuse.

Access to Palliative Care Bill
A bill to allow for equitable access to palliative care services and for advancing education, training and research in palliative care.
