Legislation: Government Bills

Bank of England and Financial Services Bill

The Bank of England and Financial Services Bill passed Second Reading on 1 February and Committee stage on 23 February 2016. The Bill was amended at Report stage and will now return to the Lords for consideration of amendments.

Energy Bill

The Energy Bill passed Report stage and Third Reading 14 March 2016. Commons amendments were considered in the House of Lords on 12 April. The Commons then disagreed with Lords Amendment 7T. The Bill has been returned to the House of Lords for consideration.

Legislation: Private Members' Bills

Two Private Members' Bills were introduced to the House following Ten Minute Rule Motions this week:

Private Members' Bills are debated on thirteen Fridays in each session. The last sitting Friday for the consideration of Private Members' Bills for the 2015-16 session was 11 March 2016.

Motion for an address to the Crown

On Thursday 21 April MPs agreed a motion that an humble Address be presented to Her Majesty on the occasion of Her Majesty's ninetieth birthday.
