This week in the House of Commons MPs debated the Digital Economy Bill, the effect of the increase in the state pension age on women born in the 1950s, transgender equality, and more.
Legislation: Government Bills
Digital Economy Bill
MPs debated the Report stage and Third Reading of the Digital Economy Bill in the House of Commons on Monday 28 November 2016.
A number of amendments were made at Report Stage. The Legislative Grand Committee (England) agreed to a consent motion without a division.
The Bill passed Third Reading without a division and will now progress to the House of Lords for consideration.
Commonwealth Development Corporation Bill
The Bill passed Second Reading without a division and will now be considered by a Public Bill Committee, which is expected to report by Thursday 8 December.
Legislation: Private Members' Bills
Two Private Members' Bills were introduced to the House following Ten Minute Rule Motions this week:
On Friday 2 December, MPs debated the Benefit Claimants Sanctions (Required Assessment) Bill. The Bill started second reading debate but was adjourned. Debate is expected to resume on Friday 24 February 2017.

E-petitions debates
On Monday 28 October, in the Westminster Hall Chamber, MPs debated e-petition 162934 relating to child cancer.
Opposition day debates
On Wednesday 30 November, MPs debated the Chilcot inquiry and parliamentary accountability, and the effect of the increase in the state pension age on women born in the 1950s in the House of Commons. These subjects were chosen by the Scottish National Party.
Backbench business debates
On Thursday 1 December in the Commons Chamber, MPs took part in two general debates which had been scheduled by the Backbench Business Committee.
