Lords debates adult education

Members of the Lords, including a number of school governors and university council members, debated the role of adult education and lifelong learning and the need to develop the skills needed to strengthen the UK economy, on Thursday 28 January.
This was a general debate. They usually take place on a Thursday in the Lords chamber. During debates, members are able to put their experience to good use, discussing current issues and drawing the government's attention to concerns.
The debate was tabled by Baroness Sharp of Guildford (Liberal Democrat), school governor.
