Lords debates women and economy

Members of the Lords, including company directors and board members, debated the contribution of women to business, the economy and the future economic growth of the UK, on Thursday 21 January.
This was a general debate. They usually take place on a Thursday in the Lords chamber. During debates, members are able to put their experience to good use, discussing current issues and drawing the government's attention to concerns.
The debate was tabled by Baroness Wheatcroft (Conservative).

Lord Faulks (Conservative), minister of state for the Ministry of Justice, responded on behalf of the government.
Baroness McGregor-Smith (Conservative), gave her maiden speech.
