Lords discusses identity cards

Members of the House of Lords debated the potential use of identity documentation in dealing with the challenges of assuring the identity of individuals on Thursday 14 January.

This was a balloted debate. They usually take place on a Thursday in the Lords chamber. During debates, members are able to put their experience to good use, discussing current issues and drawing the government's attention to concerns.
The debate was proposed by former MP Lord Campbell-Savours (Labour). Other speakers included:
