Members of the House of Lords, including medical professionals, debated the ability of the National Health Service to meet present and future demands on Thursday 14 January.

This was a balloted debate. They usually take place on a Thursday in the Lords chamber. During debates, members are able to put their experience to good use, discussing current issues and drawing the government's attention to concerns.

Lord Prior of Brampton (Conservative), minister for NHS productivity, responded on behalf of the government.
