Members of the Lords, including the current and former ministerial spokespersons for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the vice-president of the CMP Wildlife & Countryside Link, asked the government what assessment they have made of the impact on British farmers of the decision to leave the EU, in the House of Lords on Thursday 21 July.

This was a question for short debate. During debates, members are able to put their experience to good use, discussing current issues and drawing the government's attention to concerns.

The debate was proposed by Baroness McIntosh of Pickering (Conservative), former shadow minister for environment, food and rural affairs and MEP.

Members taking part included:

Lord Gardiner of Kimble (Conservative), spokesperson for environment, food and rural affairs, responded on behalf of the government.
