This week in the House of Commons MPs debated the EU referendum result, the Finance Bill and more.

Legislation: Government Bills

Finance Bill

The Finance Bill had its Committee stage in the Commons on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 June. This was in a Committee of the whole house, with several amendments being made to the Bill which has been sent to Public Bill Committee for detailed examination and evidence gathering.

Legislation: Private Members Bills

MPs who were drawn in the Private Members' Bill Ballot presented their Bills to the House on Wednesday 29 June.

Prime Minister's Questions

On Wednesday 29 June MPs asked the Prime Minister questions about the EU referendum result, the upcoming publication of the Chilcot Report and more.

Opposition day debates

On Wednesday 29 June MPs debated the UK economy in the House of Commons, in a debate chosen by the Opposition.

Backbench business debates

On Wednesday 29 June MPs took part in a general debate to commemorate the centenary of the Battle of the Somme.

On Thursday 30 June in the Commons Chamber, MPs took part in two general debates which had been scheduled by the Backbench Business Committee.

Westminster Hall debates
