Lords concludes Queen's Speech debate

The House of Lords completed its discussions on the government's plans for the year ahead, as set out in the Queen's Speech, on Wednesday 25 May.

Different subject areas were debated each day following State Opening. The debate lasted four days after the day of the ceremony.

Wednesday 25 May - economic affairs, energy, environment, local government and transport

There was also an additional debate on a motion which regrets that the Queen's Speech did not include a bill to protect the NHS from the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership.

Tuesday 24 May - home, legal, constitutional and devolved affairs

Monday 23 May- foreign and European affairs, international development and defence

Thursday 19 May- business, culture, education, health and welfare

Wednesday 18 May (after State Opening) - formal thank you in reply to the Queen's Speech
