The House of Lords appointed four new ad hoc committees on Wednesday 25 May, all of which will exist just for the 2016–17 session. The committees will each investigate a specific topic and report later in this parliamentary session.

The committees will investigate issues relating to:

  • the long-term sustainability of the NHS
  • sustaining the charity sector and the challenges of charity governance
  • financial exclusion and access to mainstream financial services
  • the effectiveness and impact of the Licensing Act 2003

Full memberships and information on the planned work can be found on the committees’ respective web pages. Each committee will be issuing a ‘call for evidence’, asking people and organisations to write and tell them what they think. If you think you will be interested, the committees’ websites and the House of Lords Twitter feed will provide further information on ways you can provide evidence.
