A Bill to make provision in connection with controlling the cost of health service medicines and other medical supplies; to make provision in connection with the provision of pricing and other information by those manufacturing, distributing or supplying those medicines and supplies, and other related products, and the disclosure of that information; and for connected purposes.

Royal Assent

The Health Service Medical Supplies (Costs) Bill received Royal Assent on 27 April 2017, becoming an Act of Parliament (law).

Consideration of Lords amendments

On Tuesday 25 April, MPs considered Lords amendments to the Health Service Medical Supplies (Costs) Bill. MPs disagreed with the Lords amendment and proposed amendments in lieu. The Bill then returned to the Lords for further consideration. The House of Lords agreed to the Commons amendments and the Bill received Royal Assent on Thursday 27 April 2017.

On15 March 2017, MPs disagreed with Lords Amendment 3 relating to the UK's life sciences sector. The Bill then returned to the House of Lords for further consideration.

Commons remaining stages (Report and Third Reading)

MPs debated the remaining stages of the Health Service Medical Supplies (Costs) Bill in the House of Commons on Tuesday 6 December.

The Bill passed Third Reading without a division and progressed to the House of Lords.

The Public Bill Committee considered the Bill from 8-15 November 2016. The Public Bill Committee then reported the Bill to the House with amendments.
