The President of the Republic of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos Calderón, gave an address to members of both Houses of Parliament on Tuesday 1 November in the Robing Room of the House of Lords.

This was the first time a Colombian head of state had addressed both Houses of Parliament, and took place following the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to President Santos.

The Commons Speaker, John Bercow MP, gave a welcome address introducing the president’s speech.

The Lord Speaker, Lord Fowler, thanked the president following his address.
