This week in the House of Commons MPs debated the Savings (Government Contributions) Bill, the draft Agreement relating to the BBC, the right of EU nationals, House of Lords reform and the size of the House of Commons, and more.
Legislation: Government Bills
Savings (Government Contributions) Bill
The Bill passed second reading without a division. The Bill will now be considered by a Public Bill Committee.
Legislation: Private Members' Bills
Two Private Members' Bills were introduced to the House following Ten Minute Rule Motions this week:
- National Health Service Staff (Reporting and Registration) Bill
- Cosmetic Surgery (Standards of Practice)
On Friday 21 October, MPs debated the Sexual Offences (Pardons Etc.) Bill. The Sexual Offences (Pardons etc.) Bill debate was adjourned and Second Reading is scheduled to continue on Friday 16 December.
The Registration of Marriage Bill was not debated but was adjourned. Debate is expected to take place on Friday 18 November.

Debate on a draft Agreement
On Tuesday 18 October in the Commons Chamber, MPs debated and approved a draft Agreement relating to the BBC.
E-petitions debates
On Monday 17 November, in the Westminster Hall Chamber, MPs debated an e-petition relating to the UK's exit from the European Union.
Opposition day debates
On Wednesday 19 October, MPs debated the rights of EU nationals and House of Lords reform and the size of the House of Commons in the House of Commons. These subjects were chosen by the Scottish National Party.
Backbench business debates
On Thursday 20 October in the Commons Chamber, MPs took part in two general debates which had been scheduled by the Backbench Business Committee.
