Lords debates Calais refugee camp

Members of the Lords, including a former child refugee, a member of Amnesty International, and a trustee of Unicef UK, debated the impact of the decision by the government of France to dismantle the refugee camp in Calais on children living in the camp, in the House of Lords on Thursday 15 September.
This was a question for short debate. During debates, members are able to put their experience to good use, discussing current issues and drawing the government's attention to concerns.
The debate was proposed by Lord Dubs (Labour), who came to the UK on the 'Kindertransport' ('children's transport' for children fleeing the Nazis before the Second World War).
