Domestic committees and Senior Deputy Speaker

The new structure for House of Lords domestic committees has come into operation today, with a number of new committees established, and a new role, Senior Deputy Speaker.

Domestic committees provide strategic direction to the Lords Administration, and deal with the delivery of services to members, the use of public funds and the internal working of the House.

Senior Deputy Speaker

The first Senior Deputy Speaker, Lord McFall of Alcluith, takes up office today.
