Monday 22 May was the deadline for registering to vote in the General Election on 8 June. You must be on the electoral register to vote.

Standing as a candidate in the General Election
The deadline for those wishing to stand as a candidate in the General Election has passed. The deadline for submitting nomination papers was 4pm on Thursday 11 May.
Voting in the general election
You can vote in person, by post or by proxy. The deadline for applying for a postal vote was Tuesday 23 May and for applying for a proxy vote it is 31 May.

Electoral Commission
The Electoral Commission estimates that approximately 15% of people who are eligible to vote are not registered, approximately 7 million people.
