New Member of Parliament for Copeland

Trudy Harrison of the Conservative Party has become Member of Parliament for Copeland after winning the by-election held in that constituency on Thursday 23 February.

Copeland by-election

The by-election was called after the former MP, Jamie Reed, was appointed to the office of Crown Steward and Bailiff of the Manor of Northstead. The appointment is one of the ways in which a Member of Parliament can resign from the House of Commons.
