Lords debates Brexit and single market

Members of the Lords, including a senior lecturer in international relations and the president of the Money Advice Trust, debated the impact of the UK’s withdrawal from the EU and potential withdrawal from the single market on the rights of EU citizens living in this country and the UK’s future economic requirements, in the House of Lords on Thursday 26 January.

This was a general debate. They normally take place on a Thursday in the chamber. During debates, members are able to put their experience to good use, discussing current issues and drawing the government's attention to concerns.

The debate was proposed by Baroness Hayter of Kentish Town (Labour), shadow spokesperson (Exiting the European Union).
