The Speakers of both Houses of Parliament have today announced that an external independent review of how the perimeter of the Parliamentary Estate – including outbuildings – is secured and protected is being commissioned, following the horrific events of last week.

In addition, the Clerks of both Houses are commissioning an external review to identify the lessons learned from the operation of Parliament’s Incident Management Framework over the period of 22-27 March.

The Houses are keen to hear from anyone who was in and around the Houses of Parliament on 22 March and who wants to share their experiences or feels there are lessons to be learned from the tragic events.

How to contribute

You can send your comments by email to marchpubliccomments@parliament.uk by Sunday 30 April and these will be fed into the review. Unfortunately we will be unable to respond to you individually.

If you were a witness to the incident itself and have not already done so, we would urge you to contact the police hotline to provide a witness statement. You can do this either through the Metropolitan Police website or by telephoning the police security hotline number 0800 789 321.

Further news about the reviews will be published in due course.
