Planning your visit to Parliament

As the Prime Minster outlined in her statement yesterday, there continues to be an enhanced police presence in Westminster.

Today, business in the House of Commons continues as normal. The House of Lords was not due to sit today, but will resume as normal from Monday. The Education Centre will also open as normal on Monday.

Transport

Access to the Parliamentary Estate is gradually returning to normal.

Westminster Bridge, Victoria Embankment and Westminster Underground Station are now open. All entrances to the Palace of Westminster are now open, apart from Carriage Gates and Cromwell Green, and the police cordon around the Estate has come down.

We recommend that you check for the latest travel updates on the TfL website before you travel.

Access to the Parliamentary estate

Friday 24 March

  • If you are visiting to watch a debate or attend an event, you can enter via the Portcullis House entrance.
  • If you are meeting with a Member, you can enter via either Portcullis House or Black Rods Gate.
  • Tours arranged by Members for adults are going ahead as normal.

Saturday 25 March

  • Guided tours and audio tours are taking place as planned on Saturday 25 March, but only for those who have booked tickets already. No further tickets are available.
  • Visitors with tour tickets, should enter via the Cromwell Green entrance. More information is available via the Visit Parliament news story.
  • If you are visiting to attend an event, enter via the Cromwell Green entrance.

From Monday 27 March access to the parliamentary estate will return to normal.
