This week in the House of Commons MPs debated the European Union (Withdrawal) Bill, the Budget and more.
Budget 2017
This week, The Chancellor gave his budget statement to Parliament on Wednesday 22 November. The statement was responded to by the Leader of the Opposition, Jeremy Corbyn. The second day of debate over the Budget took place on Thursday 23 November, with two more days of debate scheduled for the 27 and 28 November.
Legislation: Government Bills
Taxation (Cross-Border) Trade Bill
The Taxation (Cross-Border) Trade Bill was presented to the House of Commons on Monday 20 November. The Bill had it's first reading, and will be brought back to the House of Commons for its second reading on a date to be announced.
European Union (Withdrawal) Bill
The European Union (Withdrawal) Bill had its third day in a Committee of the whole House on Tuesday 21 November. There will be five more days in Committee of the whole House, the first of which is Monday 4 December.
