Legislation: Government Bills
The European Union (Withdrawal) Bill
The European Union (Withdrawal) Bill had the second day of its Second Reading in the Commons on 11 September. The House voted 326 to 290 to approve the Second Reading of the Bill. The next stage will be a Committee of the Whole House.

The Finance Bill
The Finance Bill had its Second Reading in the Commons on 12 September. The House voted 326 to 299 to approve the Second Reading and the Bill now passes to Committee Stage.

On Wednesday 13 September MPs debated NHS pay in the House of Commons, in the first of two debates to take place on subjects chosen by the Opposition. The second Opposition debate was on higher education regulations.
